How Long Does Your Filter LAST?

If your filter is in excess of 40+sq ft and you follow our filter-care guidelines there is no reason why your filter will not last in excess of a year, even 15 months.
In fact if it doesn't last a year and you have followed our cleaning schedule then we will replace your filter.
There are some cheap filters available that really are false-economy, they last no more than 3 months and do not do the job that was intended - and that is keeping your spa water clean and safe.
Why do some fiters last longer than others?
Its simple really - its the filter media, thats the material that the water runs through which 'holds back' dirt (hair, leaves), mineral deposits (calcium, iron) and body grease (sweat, make-up, sun lotions).
Obviously the water istself deteriorates the material over time BUT it is the chemicals that really do the damage. Chlorine, Bromine, Acid - all used in spa water treatment that actually destroy the filter media; unless of course it is produced specifically to withstand such treatment.
And thats why REEMAY is so important . . . . . . .. .

Reemay

Reemay

the most recognised brand in the pool world for 30 years, made in USA,Reemay is the highest quality spun bonded polyester material, it doesn’t fray, tear and is resistant to Chlorine, Bromine and Acid.
Whatsmore it is so easy to clean, allowing the use of acidic abrasive elements in order to clean and restore the media back to its original state.
In tests a competitive brand had lost 75% of its strength after just 10 seconds of high-pressure washing. Further, Reemay lasted twice as long as the other brand when used in a convential hot tub under normal family of 4 conditions.

Cleaning Your Filter

Nothing is more important for hot tub water quality than your filtering system. A dirty and clogged or worn-out filter will fail its job of trapping contaminants, and put strain on your spa's pump. Clean your filters with every water change and replace them annually.
The MOST common Engineer call out is because of dirty or worn filter cartridges.
Filter Rotation
Use the filter rotation method-- while cleaning your dirty filter, swap it with a clean dry spare. With this system you'll never have to wait to use your spa, and your filters will last longer. Allowing filters to dry completely after cleaning will help destroy any resident microorganisms.
Every Month
Rinse with a Garden Hose and Then Spay with an Instant Cartridge Cleaner leave for 10 minutes and then rinse again. LEAVE TO DRY

Quarterly
Every 3 months it is imperative to have a DEEP cleanse using a specific Filter Cartridge Cleaner - The reason is because of the build-up of calcium within the filter pores, this has to be removed to restore the normal flow of water through the filter.
If you feel there is reduction in the power of your jets - the reason will be a blocked up filter.
Such filter cleaners are also anti-bacterial and will kill any deep lying harmful micro organism.
